We may be the early predictors, but in our opinion the market is finally showing some signs of cooling off. Homes are staying on the market longer, and we’re even seeing some price reductions. Sellers will have to scale back their expectations of lightning-fast sales and wildly inflated offer prices. Buyers may actually have a breathing space to inspect properties if they wish before making the hard commitment to purchase.
Of course, everything is relative, and prices here in the Bay Area will always be high given our quality of life and economic conditions. However, if you or someone you know is currently renting and anxious to purchase a home, now would be the right time to begin the process.
