Meet Georgia Hilgeman-Hammond

by Nick and Barbara Lymberis / Saturday, 15 February 2014 / Published in Meet Barbara and Nick

Georgia Hilgeman-Hammond who has spent most of her life living in the Bay Area started working with Perfect Harmony Properties (PHP) in San Jose as a real estate associate at the beginning of 2016. Previously she was a Realtor with Century 21 Alpha and Keller Williams Silicon Valley Realty in Campbell. She is extremely pleased with the family style camaraderie and personal attention that PHP provides. She has been in the real estate business since 2005. She delights in helping buyers find their dream home, working with sellers to sell their property and pursue other goals, and assisting property investors to make sound financial and informed decisions. Georgia has owned several properties herself in all these categories which, in addition to her real estate experience and expertise, gives her an understanding and a unique personal perspective of being in the “client” role. She believes real estate is a people serving profession that requires knowledge, understanding, and personal integrity. She works hard to earn the trust of her clients, acting in their best interest, and keeping them informed in a timely manner throughout the process. During her entire adult life, she has worked in various helping professions and has excelled as a responsible and dedicated worker. A career in real estate has allowed her to provide that “personal service” which is the story of Georgia’s life. Real Estate involves working with people through one or more of life’s most financially significant investments.

Prior to beginning her active real estate career, she was an elementary school counselor in the Evergreen School District in San Jose where she worked with children, families, and school personnel. Later, she founded and was the Executive Director of the Vanished Children’s Alliance (VCA), a national missing children’s nonprofit organization in San Jose for nearly 30 years and was recognized as an important force in the area of child safety. VCA’s mission was the prevention, location, recovery, and reunification of missing and abducted children. She was not only responsible for the management and operation of the VCA, she was also responsible for representing and promoting the agency on the local, state, national, and international level. This was accomplished by her active participation as a consultant, trainer, and issue area expert on numerous program and project advisory boards, in training programs and conferences, and through the media. These acquired skills, as well her personal qualities of empathy and caring, has been invaluable, and has served her well in her real estate career.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Service with a minor in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Counseling from San Jose State University and a Pupil Personnel and Services Credential.

She has been the recipient of numerous awards including a two time recipient of the California Governor’s Victim Services Award, the KRON-TV “For Those Who Care” Award and the Northern California United States Attorney General’s Spirit of Justice Award.

During her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to the beach, hiking, ATVing, and snowmobiling, and home remodeling. She is married to Carl “Bill” Hammond and their blended family consisting of 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.

Currently she splits her time between two beautiful states, California and Hawaii. She is licensed in California and is awaiting her license in Hawaii.
