Meet Janice Levin

by Nick and Barbara Lymberis / Friday, 14 February 2014 / Published in Meet Barbara and Nick

IN MEMORIAM

JANICE LEVIN

October 13, 1941 – July 13, 2017

Our agent, and dear friend, Janice Levin passed away on July 13, 2017, after a long battle with an autoimmune disease.

She was the most wonderful person…..kind, loving, generous with her time, considerate, caring, patient, encouraging, and always thoughtful of others.

Janice had a long, successful career as a pre-school teacher and pre-school Director, followed by another long and equally successful career as a Realtor.  She was always happiest when she could make a difference in the lives of families.

She absolutely loved music and theatre, and some of her happiest moments were those she spent watching musicals with her many friends.  All of Janice’s friends considered her one of their “best friends”.

She was also a tireless advocate and volunteer in the community, focusing much of her energies toward the causes of affordable housing and senior issues.  The community has lost a great voice in those areas.

Janice was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She is survived by her siblings, her children, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she was so very proud of and stayed in touch with on a regular basis.

Janice’s death leaves an immense void in the lives of her entire family and her many friends.  We will always miss her warmth, energy, compassion, and her love.

Janice Levin lived in San Jose, California since 1976. She was the Mother of 2 children, grandmother of 4, and great grandmother of 1. Janice served as Director of Sinai Nursery for eighteen years. She enjoyed working with children, parents and staff during her tenure. She also served as President of Peninsula Chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children {PCAEYC) During that time, she also volunteered with the Child Abuse Prevention Program, and with the Centre For Living With Dying as a grief counselor.

In 1994, Janice received her Real Estate License, and began working with Prudential California Real Estate. She loved working with first time buyers and with Seniors who needed special care during the sometimes-daunting process. While with Prudential, Janice was a member of the Honor Society and the Presidents Club, and enjoyed attending the conventions each year.

Janice became involved with the Womens Council of Realtors, and served as President of the local Chapter in 2006. She was also elected to the position of District Vice President (DVP) for the California State Chapter.

She was very active in volunteering in the community. Janice was a Senior Peer Advocate, and also a member of AGEnts 4 Change. She served on the Advisory Committee of the Willow Glen Community Center. Janice worked on a Shared Housing Project for Seniors, which gave her the opportunity to advocate for a much-needed program in Santa Clara County.
