We are so thankful for your trust in our real estate services throughout the year!  At this season of Thanksgiving, we wish to express our gratitude for your business and, in many instances, your friendship.  We hope to see you during the holidays, and we wish you and your families all the joys of gathering together and spending quality time with those you love.  Time is really the greatest gift of all.

How Not to Break the Bank This Holiday Season


The holidays are almost here! Get ready for festive parties, family gatherings, and … financial stress? Hold up, let’s scratch that last one. The holidays should be a time for celebration, not financial frustration, yet why do so many people find themselves worrying about their bank accounts this time of year? With the amount of commercialism we’re bombarded with around the holidays, it’s tempting to splurge on all the latest gifts and gadgets, but doing so without a plan can get you in a sticky financial situation. This year, follow these five tips to help you celebrate the holidays without breaking the bank. 

As you may know, the San Jose City Council voted recently on the next phase of Rent Control issues.  The vote kept the 5% cap on rent raises, rather than tying it to the CPI.  The attempt to include duplexes under rent control was defeated. The next vote will concern landlords passing through utility costs to tenants.  That will probably come before the City Council in March.
I’m sure you’ve been keeping an eye on the Tax Reform efforts going on in Washington DC.  Here is an interesting graphic that might help you understand it better….and what it actually means for you and your family.

And finally, for those of you that have already broken out your skis, here is a good link to check the conditions…..once you’ve had your fill of turkey dinners and all the leftovers, it’s time to pull out the chains and the hot chocolate, and high-tail it up to the slopes!
